About the Symposium
The 13th Asia-Oceania Group on Earth Observations (AOGEO) Symposium provides a regional forum to bring together the GEO community in Asia-Oceania (AO) to exchange scientific and technical views on Earth observations (EO) and their applications for regional and global priorities, as well as report on tasks in AOGEO. It is organized by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), with support from the GEO Secretariat.

Theme of the Symposium
“Enhancing the well-being of people in the Asia-Oceania region through Earth observations in the face of COVID-19 impacts ― design and implement future steps for Earth observations to realize global agendas, i.e. international policy linked to the GEO engagement priorities”.
Topics of Discussion
Under the theme, the discussions focus on the results and future steps of the AOGEO tasks by featuring emerging topics on:
AOGEO is a Regional Group on Earth Observations (Regional GEO) which envisions a future where decisions and actions for the benefit of humankind are informed by coordinated, comprehensive and sustained Earth observations.
Meetings by Task Groups are scheduled in the week of Feb 22th or before.
